How to Operate Before Starting the CMM

The guideway machining precision of CMM is high, and the distance between it and air bearing is small. If there is dust or other impurities on the guide rail, it will cause scratches to the gas bearing and the guide rail. Therefore, the guide rail should be cleaned before each start. Metal guides should be cleaned with aviation gasoline (120 or 180 # gasoline), and granite guides should be cleaned with anhydrous alcohol.

Remember, in the maintenance process can not add any grease to the gas bearing; Even if the measuring machine is not used for a long time, it should maintain an effective ambient temperature and humidity. Therefore, it is recommended to dehumidify the air conditioner regularly to prevent damage to the measuring machine in a high temperature and humidity environment.

If the coordinate measuring machine is not used for a long time, it should be prepared before starting work: control the indoor temperature and humidity (24 hours), and open the electric control cabinet regularly in a humid environment to ensure that the circuit board is fully dry to avoid damage due to moisture during sudden charging. Then check the air supply and power supply. It is best to configure a regulated power supply.

In addition to above work, before using three-dimensional coordinates, the following preparations need to be done:

1. Determine the coordinate system: Determine the coordinate system to be used, such as rectangular coordinate system, polar coordinate system, spherical coordinate system, etc.

2. Determine the direction of the coordinate axes: Determine the direction of the coordinate axes, including the directions of the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis, as well as the positive and negative directions of the coordinate axes.

3. Determine the origin position: Determine the origin position of the coordinate system, that is, the intersection position of the coordinate axes.

4. Prepare measurement tools: Prepare tools for measuring the position of points in three-dimensional space, such as rangefinders, goniometers, etc.

5. Determine the reference point: Determine the reference point to determine the position of other points in three-dimensional space.

6. Familiar with coordinate transformation: Be familiar with coordinate transformation methods, including translation, rotation, scaling and other operations, in order to perform coordinate transformation in three-dimensional space.
